Jon Yong Nam, chairman of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, made a report at the meeting to be followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers said that the 70 year-long history of the youth league is a proud one in which it performed brilliant feats for the country, people, era and history under the wise leadership of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu.

They referred to the immortal exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il for the Korean youth movement.

They said:

The President regarded the youth movement as an important issue related to the future destiny of the country and nation in his early years, started his revolutionary activities from the youth movement and trained youth as the powerful vanguard rank of the revolution and the reliable reserves of the party by successfully embodying the original idea of attaching importance to the youth.

Kim Jong Il who carried forward the said idea of the President handed the youth the torch of the revolution and developed the youth league into the most dignified and powerful youth organization in the world which is going by the august name of the sun.

The Korean youth movement which has glorified its proud history and tradition under the care of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il is ushering in a greatest heyday of its development as it is led by Marshal Kim Jong Un.

They underlined the need to build the Paektusan Songun Youth Power Station as a monumental edifice of the youth and successfully adorn the grand festival venue in October with proud labor gift of the young vanguard to the party.

An appeal to the youth league organizations and youth across the country was adopted at the meeting.

The appeal underscored the need to always straightly and more dynamically advance to successfully glorify the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the youth league as the grand festival of youth of the great Paektusan nation under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un.

Present at the meeting were Choe Ryong Hae, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the youth league and youth and students in Pyongyang.
