The statement said:

The adoption of the north-south joint declaration in June, 2000 was a historic event in promoting dialogue and practical actions for the building of a reunified prospering nation and achieving the reunification of the Korean nation by defusing tension, putting an end to the danger of war and creating peaceful environment on the Korean peninsula, resolving differences and improving the inter-Korean relations.

The declaration is in full line with the idea clarified by HE Marshal Kim Jong Un in the New Year Address for 2015.

The leadership and the people of Syria support the statement of the DPRK government issued on June 15, 2015 and all its efforts for overcoming all hurdles and barriers blocking the reunification of the great Korean nation and the improvement of the north-south relations including foreign interference under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

The Syrian leadership supports the noble intention of the DPRK leadership to achieve the reunification of Korea on the basis of historic facts of the Korean nation and its strong wishes to live in a reunified state and contribute to the development of human civilization.
