The statues were unveiled with due ceremony on Wednesday.

Present at the ceremony were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju and other senior party, state and army officials, the chief secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), the chairman of the South Phyongan Provincial People's Committee, officials concerned, service personnel, labor innovators, shock brigade members, working people, youth and students in the province.

The statues were unveiled by leading officials of the party, state and army and the province.

A floral basket whose ribbon bore the august name of Marshal Kim Jong Un was placed before the statues.

Laid before them was a floral basket in the joint name of the WPK Central Committee, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the DPRK and the DPRK Cabinet and a floral basket in the name of the people in the province.

Also placed there were floral baskets in the name of party and power organs, working people's organizations, institutions, industrial establishments, farms, universities in the province and units of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces.

All the participants made bows to the statues.

Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and president of the SPA Presidium, made an address.

He said that the erection of the statues in the province is a noteworthy event in glorifying the revolutionary careers and feats of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

He called on all officials and working people in the province to firmly defend and glorify their idea and exploits forever as befitting descendants of the President and soldiers and disciples of the leader.

The participants were briefed on the statues before looking round them.
