Christer Lundgren, chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association, and an executive member of the Goteborg Committee of the Communist Party of Sweden were elected co-chairmen of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to hold diverse political and cultural events to praise the exploits President Kim Il Sung performed by liberating Korea on the occasion of Korea's liberation (August 15.)
