Present there were Hwang Pyong So, Pak Yong Sik, Ri Yong Gil, commanding officers of the KPA, service personnel of the KPA Ground, Navy, Air and Anti-Air Force and Strategic Force and cadets of military academies at all levels.

Army General Ri Yong Gil, chief of the General Staff of the KPA, made a speech at the meeting.

He said that the shining victory in the Fatherland Liberation War was the victory of Kim Il Sung's Juche-oriented military idea, one of his gifted and original strategies and tactics and war methods and one of mental power of the army and people of the DPRK united close around the party.

He went on:

As they held Kim Il Sung in high esteem, the service personnel and people of the DPRK could emerge a heroic army and people who beat back the U.S.-led imperialist allied forces and shattered the myth of "mightiness" of the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being the "strongest" in the world for the first time in the history, and the DPRK could powerfully demonstrate its dignity and might before the whole world as a permanent winner in the war.

Kim Jong Il led the confrontation with imperialism and the U.S. to one victory after another with his outstanding and seasoned leadership, firmly carrying forward the tradition of the victory established by Kim Il Sung.

It is the sacred mission of the powerful revolutionary Paektusan army to add shine forever to the great Generalissimos' exploits in the war victory and accomplish the great cause of national reunification at any cost under the leadership of the respected Supreme Commander.

The speaker called on all service personnel to win the final victory in the confrontation with the U.S. under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, surely accomplish the great cause of national reunification, the lifelong desire of the great Generalissimos, and thus eternally glorify the history and tradition of Songun Korea's victory generation after generation.
