S. Korean Bodies Denounce Authorities' Fascist Suppression of Progressive Forces

Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, the Confederation of Trade Unions, the April 16 Solidarity, the Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy and other bodies of different social standings in south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on July 23 in denunciation of the authorities' fascist suppression.

Speakers said the suppression of the progressive forces by the police, prosecution and the Intelligence Service has gone beyond a tolerance limit since Hwang Kyo An was appointed as "prime minister."

They indiscriminately suppress the progressives by detaining, indicting, storming and searching their houses, taking issue with their peaceful meeting, the speakers said.

They called upon all the organizations to firmly unite and launch a struggle to put an end to the fascist suppression.
