The contest began with "Song of General Kim Il Sung", the immortal revolutionary hymn. Numbers included prologue and grand chorus to the accompaniment of brass band music "We Will Go to Mt. Paektu" and serial wartime songs "Song of National Defence" and "To a Decisive Battle".

The performers highly praised the war victory exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung, invincible and iron-willed commander, who shattered the myth of the U.S. imperialists' "mightiness" and brought about the beginning of the ruin for them.

And a contest of singing wartime songs in chorus while marching in array took place amid the playing of song "Footstep".

The students marched past the square, loudly singing songs such as "Song of Coast Artillerymen" and "Advance and Advance".
