The treaty was a criminal one, in which Japan admitted the U.S. occupation of the Philippines in return for getting a nod of the U.S. to its suzerainty on Korea.

After the adoption of the treaty, the Korean nation could not but suffer from Japan's military occupation of and colonial rule over Korea, national division, disaster of war, etc. as a sacrifice for the heinous U.S. and Japanese imperialists.

As soon as the World War II came to a close, the U.S. set up a secret organ with former staff officers of Japan's Kwantung Army and Imperial Headquarters involved to frame war scenarios to invade the DPRK and the rest of the Far East. Based on those war scenarios, the U.S. provoked the Korean war in June 1950.

During the Korean war, Japan turned itself into a military and logistic base for the U.S. and, not content with this, dispatched its troops to Korea and took active part in the U.S. germ warfare.

Later, the U.S. has patronized and rendered assistance to Japan's moves for a military power and reinvasion. And Japan, availing itself of the U.S. Asian strategy, has been keen on its moves to emerge as a military giant and thus realize its old dream of "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere".

The U.S. in its recent report on "defense review" called for reinforcing the U.S. navy forces in Japan as well as the armed forces of Japan in order to have a military superiority in the Asia-Pacific region.

The U.S. and Japan amended the "U.S.-Japan Defence Cooperation Guidelines", which was signed in 1997, under the pretext of increased role of each side for the strengthening of the U.S.-Japan "alliance". On the other hand, the U.S. agreed with Japan on fostering cooperation in the latter's rewriting of its Constitution for "the exercise of the right to collective self-defense" and arms buildup.

All those facts clearly show that the U.S. and Japan, seized with wild ambition for world supremacy, are making every desperate effort to dominate the whole of Korea.
