U.S. Slammed for Trumpeting about Denuclearization of Korean Peninsula
|
|
Pyongyang, August 2 (KCNA) -- Of late, riff-raffs of the U.S. are claiming that if the DPRK has clear willingness to give up its nukes, talks between the DPRK and the U.S. would be possible and that the U.S. is approaching dialogue related to the north's nukes with open-minded attitude and the ball is in the court of the north side. In a nutshell, they mean that the U.S. sincerely hopes for the opening of the talks on nukes but dialogue is not opened because the DPRK is not showing sincerity. Minju Joson Sunday in a commentary says in this regard: This is shameless sophism which can be made only by the U.S., master of disguise and kingpin hatching plots and intrigues. It is none other than the U.S. which drove dialogue for settling the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula into catastrophe and it is also the U.S. which is throwing a stumbling block in the way of opening the dialogue. The DPRK has become a full-fledged nuclear weapons state and to abandon it is unimaginable. This is a stark reality. This means that gone are the stage in which denuclearization was discussed between the DPRK and the U.S. Nevertheless, the U.S. is trumpeting about dialogue for denuclearization as before. It is aimed to convince the public that dialogue is not resumed due to the DPRK, now that the U.S. is being criticized at home and abroad for its failed policy toward the DPRK. But such a petty trick is unworkable to the DPRK. The U.S. would be well advised to draw a lesson from this stark reality, think with reason and behave properly, though belatedly. |
