The relay racers divided into eastern and western parts will meet at Panmunjom. They will manifest the iron faith and will of the service personnel to achieve the historic cause of national reunification without fail under the leadership of Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un by fluttering the red flag of the revolution associated with the whole life of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

There was a kick-off meeting before the statue of the President at the Samjiyon Grand Monument on Sunday.

Present at the meeting were general officers, officers and soldiers of the KPA.

They laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statue of the President and paid tribute to him.

A report was made by Ri Chang Gil, chairman of the KPA Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League.

The reporter said the relay would offer a good occasion for arming the servicepersons with the revolutionary spirit of Paektu, the spirit of the blizzards of Paektu, and show the faith and will of the servicepersons to achieve the final victory of the revolutionary cause of Songun without fail under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

The report was followed by the oath-taking speeches.

The speakers expressed their determination to grasp the glorious revolutionary history and exploits of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu and finally achieve national reunification in the revolutionary spirit of Paektu, the spirit of the blizzards of Paektu.

A red flag embroidered with the letters "The revolutionary spirit of Paektu, the spirit of the blizzards of Paektu" was given to the racers and the relay started.
