Big Efforts Paid to Prevention of Flood Damage in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- Efforts have been directed to preventing flood damage in the DPRK. Pyongyang City completed bank revetment along the River Taedong, thus taking a lead in the campaign to prevent flood damage. Cities and counties along the River Chongchon pushed ahead with embankment. Kumchon County in North Hwanghae Province finished embankment projects reaching a length of thousands meters. The Tongmun Co-op Farm in Huichon City, Jagang Province reinforced river wall at an interval of 700 meters to secure farmland against flood. Hamju County in South Hamgyong Province is making a fast progress in different projects to prevent Kumjingang Hungbong Youth Power Station and other units from flood damage. |
