They recalled that the "Saenuri Party" pledged to "protect south Korean rice" before its people last year and displayed literature widely advertising it throughout south Korea.

The party, however, didn't say anything about the Ministry of Agriculture and Food's recent announcement of its decision to import American rice, they deplored.

The peasants denounced the ruling party for leaving no means untried to meet its political objective, staging a ceremony symbolic of protest against the ruling party's hypocrisy.
