Pyongyang, August 7 (KCNA) -- Golden plate scriptures were recently displayed at the Korean Central History Museum in the DPRK. They comprise two sets; one showing scripture by pictures and the other showing scripture by letters. The picture scripture consists of 20 gilded silver sheets, each 12.8×9 cm in size, and the letter scripture of 16 gilded bronze sheets, each 11×12 cm. The pictures and letters were inscribed by way of spinning, and the form of a character is a square style. The scriptures, made in the early period of Koryo Dynasty (918-1392), are of high value in academic and manufacturing aspects. The newly displayed scriptures are listed as a national treasure as they show the then advanced metal workmanship and typography. |
