Foreign Diplomatic Envoys and Military Attaches Here Visit Area of Mt. Paektu

| Samjiyon, August 7 (KCNA) -- Foreign diplomatic envoys and members of the military attaches corps here visited the area of Mt. Paektu from Aug. 5 to 7 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation. They laid a floral basket before the statue of President Kim Il Sung standing on the shore of lake Samji and paid tribute to him. Being briefed on the Samjiyon Grand Monument, they looked round groups of sculptures depicting indomitable anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners who devoted their youth and lives to the country's liberation. They visited Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp. Being briefed on the immortal revolutionary life and feats of Kim Jong Il, they looked round historic relics preserved with much care. They climbed Mt. Paektu. They also visited the Monument to the Victorious Battle in Musan Area, Sinsadong Revolutionary Battle Site, Paektu Museum, etc. |
