Tradition of Juche-oriented Fine Art Created during Anti-Japanese Revolutionary Struggle
Pyongyang, August 11 (KCNA) -- The tradition of Juche-oriented fine art was created during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle waged by the Korean revolutionaries under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung.

Regarding the fine art as a powerful means for ideological education, the President set forth the idea and theory on the Juche-oriented development of fine art and wisely led the work to realize them.

In this period, model art pieces had been created in different forms characterized by great cogency and strong appeal.

Typical of them are the Korean painting "Revolutionary's Fidelity", poster "Appeal to Fellow Countrymen", woodcut "Light from Headquarters", mimeographed painting "A Bugler" and illustration "O My Dear Motherland!"

A progress had been also made in embroidery, calligraphy and stage arts.

Among them are the embroidery "Motherland Alive with Blooming Hibiscus" done by anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk and slogan-bearing trees.

The artistic representation of the leader in the DPRK was originated from those art pieces portraying Kim Il Sung created in the period, among which are the Korean painting "Kim Il Sung, Tiger of Mt. Paektu" and woodcut "Commander Kim Il Sung Mapping out an Operation Plan".

Now, the Juche-oriented fine art created during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle has been brought into full bloom as a genuine art serving the popular masses in the DPRK.
