It is a significant place to which President Kim Il Sung and anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk came several times, guided the work of small units and groups of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army and revolutionary organizations and aroused the people to the resistance for national liberation during the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

The visitors went round the Sambatsan meeting place, the secret camp of the headquarters, a house below a rock in the Okryonsan Secret Camp associated with the revolutionary feats of Kim Jong Suk and other revolutionary relics and mementoes in the battle site. It was at that meeting place that Kim Il Sung made a speech before chiefs of the political operatives of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army and underground revolutionary organizations after coming to the Sinhung area in September, Juche 26 (1937).

Leader Kim Jong Il visited the battle site in May, Juche 90 (2001) and went round revolutionary battle sites including the Paekyoksan Secret Camp and Okryonsan Secret Camp, crossing steep mountain ridges. He underlined the need to preserve the battle site well and strengthen education through it.

The visitors toured the battle site along the course covered by the leader.
