Open-air Ice Rink in Pyongyang Crowed with Visitors

Pyongyang, August 14 (KCNA) -- The People's Open-air Ice Rink on the bank of the Taedong River in Pyongyang is now crowded with visitors fond of skating. The crinkly-roofed ice rink has a plottage of 6 469 square meters. According to its chief engineer Ji Tong Il, more than 200 citizens per hour enjoy themselves at the rink everyday and they include children and aged persons. The employees of the rink have striven to improve their service for visitors, Ji said. Jong Pom Hui, a student of Kim Chaek University of Technology, told KCNA that she learned how to skate by frequenting the ice rink. Kim Kuk Jin, a worker of the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex, said: The weather is now sweltering, but my family has just enjoyed skating at this splendid rink. I dare say that my socialist country is best in the world as such luxurious buildings serve the working masses. |
