Samjiyon, August 15 (KCNA) -- School youth and children across the country made a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu from August 4 to 15. They laid floral baskets and bouquets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung at the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site, on the shore of Lake Samji and at Chongbong Bivouac and the mosaic portraying the peerlessly great persons at the Paektusan Secret Camp and paid tribute to them. At the historic land where the Pochonbo battle had been organized by the President they deeply grasped the personality of the legendary hero of the anti-Japanese war, while going round the command post of the Battle of Pochonbo, the police post of the Japanese imperialists, the sub-county office, post office, etc. They held a campfire gathering there. They passed through the Spring Site in Poso-ri and the Tableland of Junghung and visited the Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, Chongbong Bivouac, Konchang Bivouac, and the Township of Samjiyon County. During the study tour they had a meeting to hear impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas read by them, a contest of singing revolutionary songs in chorus while marching in array and other colorful political and cultural work. They passed through Sinmusong and Mudu Peak and climbed Mt. Paektu on Saturday. At the meeting held on the top of the mountain they vowed to further glorify the country as the power of youth without an equal in the world under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un. They visited leader Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp. They went round historic relics preserved with much care at the old home, being briefed on the fact that he was born as the son of guerrillas and nurtured a noble intention of the revolution, hearing the gunfire of the anti-Japanese war as a lullaby. |
