Pyongyang, August 16 (KCNA) -- Meetings, seminars, round-table talks, book and photo exhibitions and film shows took place in Pakistan, India, Myanmar and Ethiopia on August 10 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation. On display at the venues of the events were photos documenting immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un. Also displayed there were books and photos introducing the feats of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu and true picture of Songun Korea. Films shown included Korean films "Masikryong Ski Resort" and "Songdowon International Children's Camp". Zabed Ansari, secretary general of the Karachi Branch of the Pakistan-Korea Friendship Association, referred to the noble feats the President performed by leading the arduous anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory, achieving the historic cause of national liberation and turning the DPRK into a political, ideological and military power. S. P. Pathak, chairman of the Indian Society for the Study of Works of Kim Jong Il, said that the President embarked on the road of the revolutionary struggle in his teens to liberate the country, defeated the brigandish Japanese imperialists and achieved the cause of the country's liberation. The President defeated the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being the "strongest" in the world, defended the sovereignty and dignity of the country and built the DPRK into a socialist power independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in defence, he noted. A congratulatory message to Marshal Kim Jong Un was adopted at the event held in Pakistan. |
