Foreign Media Mark Anniversary of Korea's Liberation

Pyongyang, August 16 (KCN) -- Iranian and Nigerian papers carried special write-ups and Guinean broadcasting services aired special programs from August 5 to 10 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Korea' liberation. The Iranian paper Iran News carried an article illustrated with a photo of President Kim Il Sung and a picture of the Arch of Triumph. Thanks to the liberation of Korea its people could lead an independent and creative life as masters of their own destiny and the state and society freed from the yoke of colonial slavery of the Japanese imperialists, the article said. The reality in the DPRK which is bringing about a fresh leap forward and innovations in the building of a thriving socialist nation makes everybody deeply recollect once again the historic significance of Korea's liberation that provided a turning point in carving out the independent destiny of the people and achieving the prosperity of the country, it noted. The Nigerian paper Nigerian Observer in an article titled "Korea' liberation, turning point in history" said that the President achieved the historic cause of the country's liberation and founded the Workers' Party of Korea right after the liberation. Thanks to the founding of the DPRK on September 9, 1948 it emerged a full-fledged independent and sovereign state in the international arena, it noted, adding: Socialism collapsed in various countries at the end of the last century but the red flag of socialism is fluttering more vigorously in the DPRK. The DPRK has become an object of admiration by the international community as it is firmly defending its ideology, social system and cause without any deviation from the road of socialism. Guinean Domestic, International and Seven National Languages Broadcasting Services aired a detailed program on the undying exploits the President performed by liberating the country which once eclipsed on the world map and turning it into a socialist power independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in defence. |
