Foreign Media Report on Korea's Reunification
Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- Newspapers and radios of Cambodia and Myanmar reported on the issue of Korea's independent and peaceful reunification from July 27 to Aug. 10 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

A Cambodian paper said supreme leader Kim Jong Un set forth a task of opening up a broad avenue to independent reunification in the year marking the 70th anniversary of national liberation by the joint efforts of the whole nation in his New Year Address. The paper elaborated the task and heartily hoped for a turning point in Korea's reunification this year.

F.M. 90.5 Radio and Apsara Television and Radio of Cambodia aired the similar report.

The Myanmar paper The New Age said it was a tragedy that a homogenous nation of the same blood which lived in one territory with the same cultural tradition for 5 000 years suffered from a division in the contemporary times.

Elaborating the U.S. desperate disturbances of reunification of the Korean peninsula for the past decades, the paper went on:

70 year-long division of Korea proved that the Korean people's efforts for reunification failed to yield desired results due to the U.S. interference.

The issue of Korea's reunification is not confined only to the Korean peninsula but is directly related with the global peace and security.

Korea should be reunified peacefully as soon as possible for the peace and security of the world.

The U.S. should stop the moves to obstruct the reunification of Korea.
