S. Korean Students Condemn Japan's Past Crimes
Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- There took place rallies and demonstrations of south Korean students outside the Japanese embassy in Seoul on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation. They condemned Japan's past crimes and demanded its apology and reparation.

Students held a rally there on August 15.

Speakers denounced the Japanese prime minister's "statement to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII" as it mentioned no apology for the crimes of aggression and Japan's moves for rearmament.

They said Japan should make sincere apology to the Korean nation and make sincere efforts for the past liquidation.

A students' declaration on national independence was read out at the rally.

Meanwhile, the south Korean Buddhist Youth Society held a press conference there on the same day.

Students of high schools and universities also held anti-Japanese rallies and demonstrations there on August 14 and 15.
