Large-scale Actions against U.S., Japan Staged in S. Korea

Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- People from all walks of life in south Korea held a large-scale rally and demonstration in Seoul on August 15, the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation, according to Voice of People, an internet paper of south Korea.

There took place the August 15 rally for national reunification at the university street in Jongro District.

Speakers accused the Park Geun Hye regime of following the U.S. moves to rearm Japan, resorting to the hostile policy toward the north and going against the people's desire for peaceful reunification, far from refusing the shackling alliance with the U.S. and improving south-north relations.

Then the August 15 all-people rally for peace against war was held with more than 10 000 people of all social strata including those from at least 40 civic and public organizations attending.

At the end of the rally there took place a demonstration.

After the demonstration the participants held a rally once again in Jongro District and tore down the disgusting Stars and Stripes and a flag symbolic of Japanese militarism.
