When visiting the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex some days ago, supreme leader Kim Jong Un called for modernizing the railways to step up the building of a thriving socialist nation.

In hearty response to his call, the ministry is concentrating all efforts on developing and producing hi-tech railway transportation means in close cooperation with railway factories and enterprises, while pushing ahead with the projects to put the railway transportation on an IT basis and spruce up railway stations.

Signal successes have also been made in raising the strength of rails.
