Railway Modernization Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- Railway modernization has been steadily pushed forward in the DPRK. All the railway workers are fully determined to bring about a fresh turn in improving railways, Kim Sun Ok, a department director of the Ministry of Railways, said. She went on: When visiting the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex some days ago, supreme leader Kim Jong Un called for modernizing the railways to step up the building of a thriving socialist nation. In hearty response to his call, the ministry is concentrating all efforts on developing and producing hi-tech railway transportation means in close cooperation with railway factories and enterprises, while pushing ahead with the projects to put the railway transportation on an IT basis and spruce up railway stations. Signal successes have also been made in raising the strength of rails. |
