S. Korean Body Calls for Achieving Peace and Reunification

| Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification in south Korea held a rally in Seoul on August 15 at which it declared it would certainly check the Japanese government's moves for revival of militarism and reinvasion of the Korean Peninsula. A resolution was read out at the rally. It said that Japanese Prime Minister Abe's anachronistic statement is little short of a declaration of war that calls for rendering defunct the peace constitution, exercising the "right to collective self-defense" with the backing of the U.S. and igniting a war of aggression again. It is also a declaration against humanity that confirms its will to totally deny apology, reflection and state reparation for the past crimes, it charged. It said that the U.S. is trying to introduce the "Self-Defense Forces" into the Korean Peninsula under the plea of tightening military alliance. |
