Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- The Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea released a joint statement denouncing the moves of the Japanese right conservative forces to cover up the past crimes on August 16, the next day of seven decades after the defeat of the Japanese imperialists. It said that Abe's "statement to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII" dose not show sincere acknowledgement and apology for the crimes Japan committed against the Korean people. The Japanese imperialists' 40-odd-year long colonial rule over Korea was the most hideous and brutal one, it said, and went on: Five years after the defeat of the Second World War, Japan took part in the Korean War under the connivance and patronage of the U.S. Japan is persistently oppressing Koreans in Japan while violating their rights. Abe's "statement" is an insult to the Korean people. This time Abe disclosed the militarist, violent and aggressive nature of Japan. His deceptive "statement" is the mockery of the people who were forced into slavery and lost their lives owing to the aggression by Japan. Japan should make a sincere apology and reparation before the Korean people and clearly settle the past crimes. |
