Rodong Sinmun Monday observes in an article in this regard:

The gravity of the war drills lies in that they are aimed at a surprise preemptive attack on the DPRK with the U.S.-south Korea combined division and huge war hardware for aggression involved with their operation mission to "eliminate the headquarters" and "occupy Pyongyang" and all the operation commanding posts deployed.

The final goal of the U.S. Korea policy is to bring down the social system in the DPRK and occupy its inviolable land as it is the arch criminal stoking deep-rooted hostility and distrust in Pyongyang.

The U.S. would be well advised to clearly understand that it can never bring down the DPRK.

Looking back on history, the U.S. sustained repeated setbacks in face of heavy blows of the Korean People's Army while running riot, counting on its strong muscle.

Not only during the Korean War but in the spy ship Pueblo incident, Panmunjom incident, the case of shooting down a copter in December 1994, etc. the U.S. always made apologies and signed surrender documents.

Tragedy is that the U.S. is not awakened from its daydream, pursuant to its hostile policy toward the DPRK.

If the U.S. ignites a war in the end, far from drawing a lesson taught by its bitter defeat in the history, the DPRK will bring an irrevocable disaster and disgrace to it.
