The Aug. 12th issue of the newspaper Al Baath carried an article titled "Korea's liberation, a turning point in history" illustrated with a photo showing the might of the heroic Korean People's Army.

It praised President Kim Il Sung for liberating the country and building the party, saying that the country's liberation for the Korean people meant not only the national restoration but also a historic event which brought about a decisive turn in their destinies, i.e. from slaves to masters.

It referred to the fact that the overall democratic reforms were successfully carried out in the DPRK in a short span of time after the liberation and on their basis the first democratic people's state was founded in the East and the DPRK could advance guided by its original idea since its early years.

The Aug. 14th issue of the newspaper Al Thawrah in an article indicated the significance of its liberation and introduced the proud path covered by the DPRK.

The Aug. 15th issue of the paper Tishrin carried an article titled "The DPRK greets the 70th anniversary of the country's liberation from the Japanese colonial rule, it ushers in a great avenue of independent reunification".

The Syrian Arab News Agency and central TV carried images dealing with the revolutionary activities of Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and introduced their exploits.

The central radio broadcasting made a special report on the same day.
