Anniversary of Korea's Liberation Marked Abroad

Pyongyang, August 26 (KCNA) -- Foreign newspapers carried articles to mark the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation. The Egyptian paper Al-Misaiya on Aug. 13 in an article said President Kim Il Sung embarked on the road of the revolution in his early years with the great intention to save the destiny of the Korean nation. The Kuwaiti paper Kuwait Times on Aug. 16 carried an article captioned "On August 15, the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japan's colonial rule." The article said "Song of General Kim Il Sung", immortal revolutionary hymn sung in liberated Korea, is still reverberating far and wide, powerfully encouraging the Korean people in their drive to build a thriving socialist nation under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un. The Algerian paper Saut Al Ahrar on Aug. 15 carried an article illustrated with a photo showing a bird's-eye view of Pyongyang City. It said that the independence of Korea was the precious fruition made by the Korean revolutionaries through a 15-year-long anti-Japanese armed struggle under the leadership of Kim Il Sung. The paper introduced the DPRK, saying that its appearance has dramatically changed thanks to the great heyday in construction. |
