Present there were personages of the government of the Amur Region, the railway station and the hydro-electric plant and masses.

Present there on invitation were the DPRK vice consul general and consuls in Khabarovsk and officials from different units working in the region.

The participants laid floral baskets and bouquets before the tablet to honor Kim Jong Il and monument to his visit to the hydro-electric plant.

The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Blagobeshensk City of the region said that the region recorded a clear page in the history of the Russia-DPRK friendship as it is a significant place visited by Kim Jong Il in the last period of his life.

He expressed hope that the Russia-DPRK friendly and cooperative relations which developed under the deep care of Kim Jong Il would grow stronger, adding that the joint event marking Kim Jong Il's historic visit to the region would continue to be held as a tradition.

An advisor to the minister of external economic relations, tourism and business of the government of the region stressed that he would make positive efforts to make the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries yield more noticeable substantial results.
