Present there were teachers, researchers and officials concerned in the fields of social science and education including the Academy of Social Sciences and Kim Il Sung University and delegations and delegates of China. Speakers said that the symposium will contribute to disclosing with bitterness the crime-woven history committed by the Japanese imperialists and preserving peace in Northeast Asia. Then, papers were heard there. Speakers said that the history of aggression committed by Japan in the past is the hideous crimes unprecedented in the history of mankind which threatened the existence of Korea and other Asian countries and the blood-stained history of killings and plunder. They noted that no matter how much water may flow under the bridge and how many times rivers and mountains may change, the crime-woven history of Japan is the truth of history that can never be covered up. They also disclosed atrocities the Japanese imperialists committed against the Korean and other Asian people including the Ulmi incident of 1895, massacre of Koreans and Nanjing massacre. They urged the Japanese authorities to clearly understand the demand of the era and the trend of the times and make a thorough-going apology and reparation for the crimes committed against the Korean and other Asian people in the past. |
