The statement said that August 25 this year is the 55th anniversary of the day when H.E. Kim Jong Il started the Songun revolutionary leadership with his guidance to the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards 105th Tank Division of the Korean People's Army.

Global progressives including the Nepalese people joined the DPRK in celebrating the significant Day of Songun, the statement noted, adding:

We deeply felt once again that he was an outstanding Songun brilliant commander boundlessly revered by all people as he demonstrated the dignity and might of the DPRK by dint of Songun.

We are well aware of the Songun politics and we extend full support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle to defend peace and security on the Korean Peninsula by respecting the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the country in the idea of By Our Nation Itself.
