Cuban Paper Marks 55th Anniversary of DPRK-Cuba Diplomatic Ties
Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- The Cuban newspaper Granma on August 29 carried an article titled "Friendship between the Republic of Cuba and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea will be forever" to mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The article said the peoples of Cuba and the DPRK have supported and cooperated with each other on the basis of the revolutionary principle and sense of obligation to strengthen the fraternal bonds.

Noting that President Kim Il Sung, father of socialist Korea, extended support and solidarity to the struggle of the Cuban people at the Caribbean Sea crisis and took measures so that the members of the DPRK embassy in Havana and Korean students in Cuba fully supported the fraternal Cuban people, the article went on:

Leader of the Cuban revolution Fidel Castro Ruz always gave selfless aid to the just cause of the Korean people for socialist construction and independent and peaceful reunification of the country.

The Korean people have sent invariable support and solidarity to the struggle of the Cuban people advancing under the leadership of Fidel Castro Ruz and Raul Castro Ruz for over half a century.

The Cuban and Korean peoples will make every effort to further boost the friendly and cooperative relations true to the noble intention of the supreme leaders of the two countries.
