The message said:

I, on behalf of the Central Committee of the People's Revolutionary Party, government and people of Laos and on my own behalf, extend warm congratulations and wishes to you, the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, government and people of the DPRK on the occasion of the 67th birthday of the DPRK.

I am pleased with such great successes in the DPRK as the steady strengthening of the defence capability, the modern development of the country's science and daily improvement of the people's life over the past 67 years under the tested leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea.

I am firmly convinced that the DPRK would develop into a prosperous socialist state under your wise leadership.

I regard it as a great pride that the long-standing relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries have been developed on to a new higher stage, bringing substantial interests to the two peoples and making an important contribution to developing the regional and global peace, stability and cooperation.

I wish you good health and greater success in your noble work on this auspicious and historic occasion.

And I hope that the Korean people would win a new victory in accomplishing the cause for defending and constructing the socialist state and the cause for the peaceful reunification of Korea would be achieved at an early date.
