DPRK State Merited Chorus Gives Performance for Guests of Honor in Khabarovsk

Pyongyang, September 4 (KCNA) -- The members of the State Merited Chorus of the DPRK on a visit to Russia gave a performance for guests of honor in Khabarovsk City of Russia on Thursday. The Khabarovsk Territory Music Theatre was crowded with people to enjoy the performance. Invited to watch the performance were Deputy Prime Minister Victor Martsenko, Minister of Culture Nataliya Yakutsina and Minister of Education Ala Kuznetsova of the Khabarovsk Territory Administration. Among the audience were personages of the Khabarovsk Territory Administration and Assembly, Khabarovsk City Administration and education, literature and arts, media and other circles, service personnel of the Eastern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, citizens and Koreans in Russia, Consul General Im Chon Il and staff members of the DPRK Consulate General in Nakhodka. Put on the stage first was orchestral music "Pyongyang Is Best" which deeply impressed the audience as it reflects the warm love of the Korean people for the homeland of Juche daily developing into a highly civilized socialist nation thanks to the great intention of Marshal Kim Jong Un to build a thriving nation and his wise guidance. Also put on the stage were orchestra and male chorus "Song of the Korean People's Army", female solos and male choruses "Sea of Apples at Foot of Chol Pass" and "Peace Is Guaranteed by Our Arms", male chorus of Russian song "Forward", male chorus and light music "Song of Proud Guards Units", Russian song "Soldiers, Brave Men". They represented the revolutionary spirit and militant optimism of Songun Korea and national flavor of the Russian people. The performers made a truthful artistic representation of the faith and will of the DPRK and the desire of the two peoples to boost the DPRK-Russia friendly ties. Artistes of the song and dance ensemble of the Eastern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation sang male duet of the Russian song "The Naval Port at Night" to the accompaniment of recital of the State Merited Chorus, peculiarly decorating the stage. When the image of Kim Jong Un standing atop Mt. Paektu, sacred mountain of the revolution, despite its blizzards was projected on the background of the stage and male quintet "Let Us Not Abandon Revolutionary Faith Though One May Die" and male chorus "We Will Go to Mt. Paektu" resounded forth, the whole audience broke into enthusiastic applause. At the end of the performance audience presented floral baskets and bouquets to the performers, congratulating them on their successful performance. The performance given by the State Merited Chorus evoked a lively response among Russians in the city. |
