Minju Joson Demands Withdrawal of U.S. Troops from S. Korea
Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- The history of seven decades of the U.S. forces' occupation of south Korea is the crime-woven history as they imposed pain of separation upon the Korean nation that lived as a homogeneous nation for thousands of years and brought disaster of war and obstructed the unified development of the Korean nation, Minju Joson Sunday says in a commentary.

The commentary goes on:

The U.S. paints its forces in south Korea as "liberators" saying that it is "sacrificing itself to peace and security" on the Korean Peninsula. However, it is nothing but sophism to cover up the despicable nature as aggressor.

What is more serious is that the U.S. imperialists ceaselessly run amuck in the moves for a new war in order to militarily stifle the DPRK and expand the sphere of aggression to the Asian Continent.

It is the urgent political task to defuse the tension, create a peaceful atmosphere and remove the military confrontation on the Korean Peninsula.

The U.S. should drop its hostile policy toward the DPRK and withdraw all its troops from south Korea. This is the only way out for peace and stability of the peninsula.

In a word, withdrawal of the U.S. troops from the Korean Peninsula will lead to peace, otherwise it will lead to a war. This is a formula.

Herein lies the reason why the DPRK, desirous of peace and stability of the peninsula and unified development of the nation, demands an end to the U.S. hostile policy to the DPRK and the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from south Korea.

The strategic structure has changed in Northeast Asia and the force between the U.S. and the DPRK has been balanced. Under this situation the U.S. hostile policy to the DPRK is incongruous with its interests.

The U.S. would be well advised to make a bold decision to withdraw its troops from south Korea as early as possible under the present changed situation.
