Swiss Bodies Denounce U.S. Forces' Presence in S. Korea
Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- The Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea made public a joint statement on Sept. 2.

This significant year marking the 70th anniversaries of Korea's liberation and the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea also observes 70 years since the beginning of the U.S. forces' presence in south Korea and the tragedy of split of the Korean nation, the statement said, and went on:

The U.S. occupied the southern part of the Korean Peninsula militarily on Sept. 8, 1945.

The U.S. troops who landed on south Korea under the mask of "liberator" was, in actuality, barbarous conquerors of colony and occupiers replacing the Japanese imperialists.

The people in the northern half of Korea have enjoyed freedom and happiness for the past seven decades but the south Koreans have had their sovereignty violated under the domination of foreign forces since more than a century ago.

The U.S. forces' presence in south Korea has lasted till today and, consequently, the split of the Korean nation has persisted.

The U.S. turned south Korea into its military base to invade the independent northern half of Korea.

It still remains unchanged in its purpose to put the whole of Korea under its control.

The U.S. forces' illegal, neo-colonial presence in south Korea and the pain resulting from the national split should no longer be allowed to go on.
