Japanese Reactionaries' Vicious Suppression of Chongryon under Fire

| Tokyo, September 7 (KNS-KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries kicked off another conspiratorial suppressive racket as part of their persistent moves to detect the activities of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and internal affairs of its organization. The Hokkaido police authorities forcibly searched the Hokkaido headquarters of Chongryon and all other institutions under Chongryon in its hall and also Hokkaido Korean primary, middle and high school under the pretext of "fraud case" of Koreans in Japan on September 6. They arrested a former person concerned of the Hokkaido Commercial Association of Chongryon, saying he helped write a paper of application for employment subsidies, and searched the office of the Association in the hall of Chongryon headquarters. The police also attempted to search the house of the chairman of the Hokkaido headquarters of Chongryon. The Japanese reactionaries committed such smear campaign several times this year. This is a politically-motivated provocation against the DPRK and a hideous crackdown aimed at stamping out Chongryon. |
