An article of Rodong Sinmun Friday says the situation requires heightening vigilance against the dishonest forces at home and abroad inciting distrust and confrontation between the north and the south and giving momentum to the trend of detente that was gained with much effort.

The article goes on:

It is high time that the north and the south authorities got well aware of their responsibilities before the times and the nation, put the situation under good control and gave momentum to the good atmosphere of improving the relations.

It is as clear as noon day that the reconciliation process between the north and the south might face an obstacle from its beginning unless the U.S. moves for disrupting the north-south ties are checked.

The history of the north-south relations proves that reaching an agreement on defusing tension and improving the relations is important but more important is to sincerely honor the agreement without dancing to other's tunes.

The article stresses that the Korean nation will never allow the north-south relations go back toward confrontation and the tension escalate on the Korean Peninsula again due to the moves of the dishonest forces.
