U.S. to Blame for Escalating Tension on Korean Peninsula: Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, U.S. Secretary of Defense Carter said at video dialogue with GIs all over the world that the Korean Peninsula is the "only place on the earth" where a war may break out easily any time and a "place like a powder keg", raising a hue and cry over someone's "provocation". He requested GIs to keep themselves on a full combat alert that a fight may start tonight.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says in an article in this regard:

The U.S. military boss talked rubbish about "powder keg" and the like as if he were interested in peace and stability but the U.S. can never evade the blame for escalating tension on the Korean Peninsula.

The U.S. imperialists are the disturber of peace as they have always escalated the tension on the peninsula.

It was none other than the U.S. which ignited the Korean War and reduced the Korean Armistice Agreement to a dead paper.

It is the arch criminal who brought the danger of a nuclear war to the peninsula.

It goes without saying that the U.S. is driving the situation on the peninsula into the worst phase in a bid to realize its ambition for invading the DPRK and, furthermore, create conditions in favor of carrying out its strategy for dominating the world.

Had the DPRK not taken toughest counter-action against the U.S. nuclear war racket with war deterrent, the Korean Peninsula would have already turned into a sea of flames.

Whoever wants global peace and security should clearly see who loves peace and who seeks war on the peninsula.
