Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- The Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea made public a joint statement on Sept. 11 in praise of the Korean people who joined the international anti-fascist alliance and greatly contributed to ending the Second World War. The statement said: 70 years have passed since the Asian people won a victory in the anti-Japanese struggle and Japan surrendered in the Second World War. What should not be forgotten is that the DPRK was part of the major international anti-fascist alliance against Germany, Italy, Japan, etc. The Korean People's Revolutionary Army founded by President Kim Il Sung played a great role in the struggle against the Japanese imperialists during WWII. The KPRA, together with the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Army of China and the Soviet Army, formed the International Allied Forces in 1942 while keeping their originality. This made the KPRA an important component of the anti-fascist allied forces against the Japanese imperialists. Korea's liberation on August 15, 1945 was a victory of the world peace-loving people against Japan and fascism. The KPRA played a decisive role in the International Allied Forces in prevailing over fascist Hitler and militarist Japan. |
