Cancellation of Undemocratic Policy of University Education Demanded in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- The Council of Professors for Democracy and other professors organizations in south Korea held a rally in Youido, Seoul on Sept. 18 at which they demanded a cancellation of the undemocratic policy of university education. The organizations recalled that Ko Hyon Chol, professor at Pusan University, killed himself on August 17 in demand of democracy at the university. The undemocratic policy of university education enforced by the present regime and the Ministry of Education pushed the professor to death, they charged. They demanded the present regime roll back violent policy of university education and take steps for ensuring democracy at universities. They called upon all members of universities including professors, staffers and students to stage a solidarity action. At the end of the rally the participants staged a demonstration. |
