Minju Joson on Human Rights Abuses Committed by U.S. against Koreans

Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, an article titled "U.S. oblivious of what it did in north Korea" was posted on the U.S. internet magazine Box. The article said the U.S. should admit that it did something terrible and devilish in north Korea, the U.S. seems to have forgotten this but north Korea always remembers everything and the U.S. dropped over north Korea more bombs during the Korean war in the 1950s than what it did in the Pacific during World War II, leveling all cities of the country and killing tens of thousands of innocent civilians. It also recalled that the U.S. Strategic Air Force commander during the Korean war said in 1984 that during the three year-long war the U.S. killed 20 percent of the population of Korea, and U.S. journalist Blaine said such air raids were the most monstrous crimes in the history of wars, adding that it was natural for the Koreans to hate the U.S. so much. Commenting on this, Minju Joson Tuesday says: Americans admitted the genocide and destruction perpetrated by the U.S. in Korea, though belatedly. This goes to prove that truth about history is bound to be clarified any time. The U.S. has so far pretended to work hard for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula while painting itself as "a guardian" of peace and democracy but what it did in Korea was not for peace and democracy. It has perpetrated only monstrous genocide, destruction and plunder. The U.S. would be well advised to make honest apology and reparation for all human rights abuses against the Korean people and withdraw from south Korea without delay. |
