Minju Joson Tuesday observes in a commentary in this regard:

Such moves prove that the south Korean authorities remain unchanged in their scenario to stifle the fellow countrymen in the north at any cost in collusion with the U.S. but are becoming ever more outrageous in it.

The south Korean authorities' cooperation with the U.S. over the nuclear issue of the DPRK is sycophancy toward the U.S. which gets them nowhere, the news analyst says, and goes on:

For the U.S., seeking hegemony in Asia-Pacific and domination over the world, the Korean Peninsula serves as a springboard for its aggression against the continent. Therefore, what the U.S. urgently requires is neither detente on the peninsula nor improved inter-Korean relations, but escalated tension and deteriorated north-south relations.

It is a product of this scenario that the U.S. is deliberately pushing the situation on the peninsula to the worst phase and driving a wedge between the north and the south in their efforts to repair the relations.

Lurking behind such reckless behavior of the south Korean authorities prompted by this sinister scenario is their black-hearted intention to disarm the DPRK at any cost and achieve their "unification under liberal democracy" backed by outsiders.

The south Korean authorities had better behave themselves, clearly understanding that their cooperation with the U.S. and military confrontation racket against the DPRK are dangerous acts to stem the trend for improving the inter-Korean relations brought about with much effort.
