Born into a poor family in Chongdan County on September 22, Juche 4 (1915), Ri lived as a hired hand at the house of a landlord, undergoing sorrow as a stateless nation.

She could lead a worthy life in the country liberated by President Kim Il Sung.

She keenly felt his love for the people and gratitude of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government, experiencing herself the agrarian reform after the country's liberation and the socialist cooperativization after the war.

She worked hard for farming to repay the benevolence of the party and the leader.

She keeps herself optimistic, having balanced diet.
