Projected Enactment of "Law on Human Rights in North" Slammed
Pyongyang, September 25 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the National Reconciliation Council in a statement Friday urged the south Korean authorities and the political philistines of ruling and opposition parties to face up to the desire of the nation and the trend of the times and immediately stop the farce of enacting "the law on human rights in the north", an evil law inciting confrontation with the DPRK.

The law is a confrontation law denying the national reconciliation and unity and causing antagonism, discord, confrontation and conflicts between fellow countrymen, and an anti-reunification law that can push the north-south relations to deterioration and catastrophe again, the statement said, and went on:

It is as clear as noonday that the enactment of the law will deter the national reconciliation and unity and plunge the north-south relations into a catastrophe.

However, the south Korean authorities including the Unification Ministry are abetting confrontation, chiming in with the political philistines' farce of enacting the law, saying that "the issue of human rights in the north is not one that can be avoided".

It is the height of effrontery and an intolerable mockery and insult to the public at home and abroad to trumpet about "north-south parliamentarian talks," "implementation of agreement", "improvement of relations" and "dialogue" while antagonizing dialogue partner.

We value the national concord and improvement of the north-south relations but will never tolerate acts of infringing upon the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK.
