Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory greeted its 70th birthday. The development of the factory is associated with undying feats Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero, performed for carrying into practice the lofty desire of President Kim Il Sung to give wellbeing to the people after the country's liberation from Japan's colonial rule. In April 1947, Kim Jong Suk visited the factory to learn in detail about its operation. Dropping in at its cake shop, she stressed the need for the factory to boost the production of sweets and cakes to be supplied to children. She told its officials and employees about Kim Il Sung's desire to provide the children of the country with confection and inspired them to turn out in a drive for increased production. After her visit, all the employees of the factory worked hard to remodel it and perfect its production processes in order to make a big progress in the production of confection. |
