Embarking upon the road of revolution in her early years, Kim Jong Suk joined the Korean People's Revolutionary Army led by Kim Il Sung in September 1935.

She earned fame as an anti-Japanese war hero and woman commander of Mt. Paektu and set a brilliant example in devotedly defending the leader.

Her life was totally dedicated to protecting the safety of the President and implementing his idea and line. Her life was a great one as she gave birth to leader Kim Jong Il, providing steady continuity to the revolutionary cause of Juche.

An article titled "Yearning for Kim Jong Suk" said:

She was a crack shot in the battle fought against the enemy and always showed warm loving care for the comrades and people, her face beaming with a broad smile in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

After Korea's liberation she visited every nook and corner of the country, dedicating herself to the drive for carrying out the President's line on building the party, state and army.

She is still remembered by the Korean people as a great paragon in defending the leader unto death.
