The school won the first place for 28 times in the rhythmic gymnastic event of the annual National Schoolchildren's Sports Contest for Jongilbong Prize.

It has attached great importance to developing rhythmic gymnastics on a scientific basis from long ago. It has an excellent rhythmic gymnastic hall fully equipped with more than 200 training aids.

Such achievements are attributable to the painstaking efforts of Pak Hyang Suk, a drill master of the school with nearly 40 years' experience.

A number of her trainees have been singled out by several sports teams and many of them proved successful at different international games.

Pak wrote a book on eurhythmic training and was awarded two certificates in new education method. She is also the winner of the title of October 8 Model Professor.
