Yun Won Chol, Jong Myong Suk and Jong Hak Jin respectively reached the standard set by the United World Wrestling in Greco-Roman men's 59 kg, women's freestyle 53 kg and men's freestyle 57 kg categories of the championship.

As of late September, 16 athletes of the DPRK are qualified for the 31st Olympiad in the events of marathon, shooting, wrestling and diving.

The number of DPRK entrants to the Olympiad is expected to increase in weightlifting, gymnastics and other events.
